This is where the pedal hits the metal. Your old unused electric planer could be my basic plastic shredder, that old motorised tool you forgot you even had could power a plastic press to make injection molded useful items for sale out of recycled plastic, that old circular saw could be just what I need to make a panel saw to cut recycled plastic sheets to size for a futuristic recycled plastic birdhouse.
You get the idea I guess. I salvage electronics for stuff I can recycle (I used to do a lovely line of “memories windchimes” made out of old hard drive internal gubbins) or use to perform work. I’ve gotten useful parts off old printers and 3D printers to make other tools to use in recycling.
